An Outpost of the Kingdom

In my travels around the world, I have been able to see a few embassies of the United States of America. I have talked with personnel at the American Embassy in Paris in hopes that Dhimitry and Muriel could get a visa to come to the USA. This past summer, we drove past the American Embassy in Kinshasa, DRC, and our group was warned when Bill Lewis started to take a photo that this would be unacceptable. When traveling abroad, it's always a good idea to have a copy of your U.S. passport, and to have a good idea where the nearest American Embassy is located.

In 2 Corinthians 5:20, we are told that we are Christ's ambassadors, and that God is making his appeal to the world through us. Therefore, where we live, work, and exist should all be recognized in this world as an Embassy of the Kingdom of God. Where I am, there should be no sickness, no death, no separation, no effective use of the laws of this world. Why not? Because I am an ambassador of God's Kingdom, and I am exempt from the laws of the country in which I am planted.

This is radical thought. It is a really big thought. But I think that it is true, nonetheless.

Tell me...what do you think?

I definitely agree. We should be who God says we are. I do not think that if you're sick or struggling that you are not God's. However, I think that God's intention for us is to be an example of his power and goodness on Earth. People should flock to Christians in times of trouble. Then, we should not be sucked into the trouble, but giving out God's grace, mercy, peace, and healing.

After much thought on this, I keep coming back to the same thing God has dealt with me about in my personal walk with Him.

We Christians know what the Word says and know that God is faithful to His Word. He will fulfill His promises to us. We should have His Kingdom here on earth. No sickness. No dispear. No pain, No needs, etc. So why don't we. I believe it is because we are so use to having a convience mentality and not wanting to have to stand and wait on what it is we need. After all, God never does get in a hurry. We run to the medicine cabinet for a tylenol for a headache because if we stand on God's Word for His healing, it may take a few days and we don't want to wait. If we need a little money, we go to the bank for a loan, we use a credit card, we may go to a family member or the church to help us out instead of standing on God's Word that He WILL supply all our needs. After all, we NEED it NOW. It can't wait.
So we step over into the worldly ways of doing things. Or we listen to a Dr. and accept what they tell us to do because if we take the medicine, we will feel better in a day or two. Not that it is wrong to do that but we have put our faith into the world ways and not the way God created us to be as His ambassadors.

If people would see the demonstration of God in our lives because we truly stand on His Word and trust Him, how that would impact their lives and they would want to come to know Jesus. Most of the time we say we trust God yet we really trust other things except Him and His Word. I found that out in my life.

The one thing that has always gotten to me is when a woman is delivering a baby. Today, they give epidurals to cover the pain. I have never believed in those at all. The Bible says there will be pain with childbirth. Yet the world says, there is a much easier way to have a baby than to deal with all the pain. I believe that is why there are so many unwanted babies today. If they went through the pain, they would think twice. The world makes it so easy that it really is no big deal to them. The same way with other things. It is faster and easier to do it the world's way.

It takes God's strength to stand on His Word and wait on Him. It isn't convient at all. You may have to go through the pain for awhile. But when it is over and God has moved, it is well worth the wait. Then people will flock to us because they see that the Bible and God works alot better than the world.

God gave us all we need to be His ambassadors. We have Jesus. We have the blood. We have the Word. We have His promise. We have His authority. What is lacking? Maybe obedience.

Did I get off the subject here? {:o)
